Do you offer hair consultations?I do offer hair consultancies and talk about your ideas and the direction to take to achieve your desired look.. -
Do you do colour corrections?Throughout my hairdressing career I've had a lot of experience with colour application and correction, as well as working towards an ideal look that you would like. For example transitioning from old colour to new, or even from regular colouring toward your natural hair colour or, as you age, to grey or silver, if you wish to "age gracefully". I'm happy to discuss this with you in a 15-minute consultation I can put a plan together working towards your ideal hair.

How long does a hair toner last?A hair toner generally last four to six weeks, depending on the frequency of washing and also if it's a semi, a demi, or a toner. I can also recommend take-home products to maintain the colour longevity in your hair.
-
What is a root shadow? The name really tells the story here; a root shadow is a slightly darker root area, with lighter ends. To achieve this look we apply a faintly darker hair toner to the roots than that which we apply to the ends. This gives a soft, graded contrast between the roots, mid-lengths and ends and helps achieve our signature lived-in colour look. This can be done with either semi or permanent colour.
-
What are 'Faux Foils'?Faux foils are for clients that I know balayage won’t work on. It is a foil that does not go right to the roots area. By placing hair segments in foil, it allows us to get the lift but still look like balayage. It can either be on hairlines or mid-lengths ends.
-
What is the difference between highlights and balayage?Highlights are placed more precisely through the hair, using foils, and generally the hair is highlighted from root to tip. Balayage is a technique where colour is painted freehand onto the hair in sections, usually from the mid-lengths to the ends (or just not all the way to the roots). Highlights allow the colour to develop more and are often more intense, whereas balayage blends more into the natural hair.

Can I pay for a haircut without a blow dry?Unfortunately, it is not possible to have a haircut without a blow dry. I need to see the cut when it’s dry to assess whether or not it needs extra cutting and finessing. Cutting the hair dry is a key part of making it perfect. To obtain the best result I always work with the natural fall of the hair.
-
What if I don't like my haircut?I always want you to leave 100% satisfied with your hair. Please contact me if you are unhappy with your hair cut. I have a 10 day free re-cut policy, which means you need to get in touch with me within 10 days of your hairdressing appointment in order to have your hair re-cut free of charge. However, I do find it can take up to 1 week after a cut for your hair to settle especially after a restyle or big change.
-
Do I need to have a blow dry?I highly recommend a blow dry with your colour service so that you can see and assess the colour. It is my policy that clients have a blow dry with their colour service to ensure they are satisfied with the result.
-
Is a 'trim' the same price as a hair-cut?Yes; cuts of any length are charged at the same rate. Generally I am refining or recreating your style in consultation with you at each appointment; this includes for both women and men.
-
Do you cut men's hair?Yes, I do enjoy doing men's hair; shaping, colouring and styling, teaching them how to manage their hair at home, including recommending appropriate products for maintenance and styling.
-
Weddings & Events?I have been working for many, many years and I enjoy this process of creating a personal environment to discuss, share, and workshop the required look that you would like to achieve on your wedding day or for a special event or occasion. My extensive experience in bridal and events hair styling allows me to style for all tastes from classic through to edgy or avant-garde looks. My sole aim is to ensure you'll shine to feel confident and beautiful on your big day, or at that special event.

How often should I revise my style and hair-care products?Staying attentive to factors like seasonal shifts, like stressors, and styling practices, helps my clients maintain the health and quality of their hair through all stages of life. I offer regular reviews and updates; as the season changes so do hair condition, as it does with age, diet, stress, colour processing, all have an impact on the quality of your hair. I believe in updating and maintaining the regime that you use to keep your hair in its optimum condition and style.
